Anchor Franchise
Concept:
The Anchor Franchise system is a key part of one of New Zealand’s most well known and loved brands. Anchor Franchisees deliver milk to a wide variety of customers including deliveries to National Accounts on behalf of Fonterra Brands.
Capital Investment Required:
Dependant on business performance and location. Typically $300,000 - $800,000 + Bond and Working Capital
Sites Territories Available:
All regions of New Zealand are franchised. Opportunities exist to purchase existing territories as Franchisees sell their businesses
Qualifications Required:
No specific qualifications are required however you will ideally have an all round understanding of the operation and dynamics of a business. Sales and or distribution experience is an advantage but not essential. Typically this business knowledge is derived from either owning your own business or managing a business with similar skills derived from involvement in the corporate sector. An understanding of the Franchise model and excellent Customer Service Skills are advantageous. Our existing Franchisees have a wide variety of qualifications and experience which is a reflection of the wide ranging skills and challenges required by the business.
Franchising Commenced:
The Anchor Brand is over 125 years old. New Zealand National Franchise Structure Since 1992.
Training Provided:
Full training programme including three weeks with existing Franchisees as well as in house training and at least one month with the Franchisee you are purchasing from before handover. Ongoing support provided via an Anchor Franchise Business Consultant.
Marketing Support:
Fonterra Brands has an extensive national advertising strategy with some of New Zealand’s most well known brands. This is supported at a regional level with a regional sales manager and business development manager assisting each Franchisee
Agreement Terms:
Individual Franchise Agreement with ten year term with rights of renewal dependent upon performance
Number Of Units:
Over 70 territories throughout New Zealand which are all franchised

Anchor Franchises sell for various prices depending upon the territories performance and location. There are Franchisees in all territories so incoming Franchisees will generally purchase off incumbent Franchisees.

Questions and Answers about this company
I was wondering if you would consider this ideal experience for purchasing a franchise, I have worked for a franchiser holder of Anchor/Fonterra for a period of 6-7 years and have a good general knowledge of the "ins" and "outs" of the business. Also does the price of purchase include the first supply of products for sale or would I need additional funds for the first supply as well? Also is there an "Age" limit for purchase or can anyone over 18+ purchase a franchise?
