August 25, 2008 - Franchize Consultants , New Zealand's leading franchising and licensing consultancy, is delighted to announce increased South Island presence and strength with the appointment of Mark Forward.

The recruitment of Mark Forward, well-known to many in New Zealand franchising, increases Franchize Consultants presence in the South Island market, home to many New Zealand founded franchise systems and franchise investors.

Dr Callum Floyd, a director of Franchize Consultants advisory services, noted that the appointment of Mark Forward, who will be based in Christchurch, will mean prospective and existing franchisors throughout the South Island will have better access to much needed expertise at each stage of their development. Companies considering franchising can benefit from strategic planning and feasibility assessment to the establishment of an infrastructure to support franchise network growth. Mature franchise companies can benefit from many supporting services including regular network health checks and reviews, franchise executive training programs, international development assistance, and specialist ongoing guidance and advice.

Mark Forward joins Franchize Consultants business services after 20 years in the financial services sector where he held many senior roles in business banking, marketing, retail and corporate banking. A highlight of Mark’s banking career included establishing ANZ Bank’s franchising department in the mid 1990’s. Mark successfully developed the bank’s profile in the sector among franchisors and franchise service providers and spent some time as a Board Member of the Franchise Association of New Zealand.

During Mark’s role he analysed and assessed numerous franchise systems, then developed preferred arrangements with the better systems. Mark’s skills assessing franchise systems provide a powerful background to his current strategic consulting role working with both prospective and large established franchise systems.

In 2006 he left banking to study for an MBA at Canterbury University which he successfully completed in 15 months. Since that time Mark has been involved in the establishment and operation of a number of companies, one of which involved development of a service offering for national franchise systems.

Mark joins a strong team at Franchize Consultants. Mark’s skills and background supplement a team of franchise consultants that blends extensive hands on business and franchising growth experience and expertise with academic excellence and rigor.

Mark is delighted to be part of the Franchize Consultants team and to be playing a part in assisting the franchise sector.
