Aussie purchase boosts Restaurant Brands sales
Restaurant Brands has seen a jump in sales by 8.5 percent in the first quarter.
Restaurant brands owns Carl’s Jr., Pizza Hut, and Starbucks Coffee in New Zealand and earlier this year the franchise group bought KFC franchises in Sydney and regional New South Wales.
An Inside Retail report states that Restaurant Brands’ total sales during the three months ending May 23 were $96.6 million, an increase of 8.5 percent ($7.6 million) at the equivalent period last year.
Total sales for KFC were $65.4 million, a 1.4 per cent or $0.9 million boost from the same time last year.
The acquisition of KFC outlets in Australia contributed $8.1 million of the total increase for the quarter.
